This year’s edition of Horeca Baleares, the largest fair for the hospitality and restaurant industry in the Balearic Islands took place in February.

As ever, our pitta bread featured on the stands of well-known local food distributors such as Etika Food and Juvimar.

This year our pita was once again given its very own moment to shine thanks to our friend, Chef Claudio Lemos.

Claudio Lemos is one of the most well-known chefs on the island and a self-confessed lover of pita bread. He took to the stage for a presentation entitled ‘Local foods in my cooking’ which was presented in collaboration with local farm cooperative Cooperatives AlimentariesIB.  He prepared a delicious pitta using only local produce – slow-cooked Mallorcan lamb with onion, ramillet tomatoes, cauliflower yoghurt and smoked aubergine sauce. It was so tasty. Claudio spoke to the audience about his creation and about the importance of using local products in his cuisine – not forgetting to mention the many reasons why he chooses to use pita bread in his kitchen.

It is always exciting to see our pita bread being used as a base for sophisticated and creative culinary creations. We are so proud to see Mana Pan Pita, pitta bread made in Mallorca, being used alongside ingredients grown and produced in the Balearic Islands.

Were you at Horeca Baleares 2023? We would love to hear about your experience!
